CPA Ontario requires a highly skilled Project Manager to manage the successful launch, planning, design, execution and overall monitoring of variety of information technology and integration projects. Reporting into the Project Management Team for Operations – IT, the Project Manager will work in a multi-location and dynamic environment, on projects which will vary in size and complexity across a variety of technologies to support the process of integration of all aspects of the business. Many projects will focus on related integration priorities.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provides team leadership, direction and coaching to staff at a variety of levels. In the role of a change agent, creates an environment that inspires and motivates staff and delivers peak performance and superior results
  • Develops effective working relationships with business units by understanding their strategic and business priorities.
  • Works with business project sponsors and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, risks, success factors, milestones, Project Charters and develop a comprehensive project plan.
  • Supports, provides input and ensures project management methodology is utilized in all projects and initiatives.
  • Creates and manages a communication plan for each project to ensure healthy communication is achieved both vertically and horizontally. This includes status reporting, risk managements and escalation of issues not resolved within the team.
  • Develops and manages project plans, schedules and budgets. This includes working with both internal resources and vendors.
  • Manages project scope and risks through effective communication, collaboration and development of mitigation plans to ensure risks and scope are controlled and uncertainty is minimized.
  • Monitors projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure project remains on track in terms of timing, objectives and cost.
  • Works collaboratively with management level staff within IT, business units and vendors to secure resources and provides regular project updates to senior leaders.
  • Reviews business and system change requests from an organizational perspective to ensure all impacts are identified and recommends priorities based on risks, benefits, costs.
  • Ensures all system changes have test plans created, are fully tested and documented; ensures user manuals and handbooks are created and training is conducted. Functional and design manuals are updated regularly.
  • Secures acceptance and approval of deliverables from sponsor and stakeholders, liaising with senior leaders as necessary.
  • Conducts post implementation reviews to collect feedback on service experience and identify common organizational needs.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualification Requirements:
  • · Post-secondary degree or diploma required preferably in computer science, engineering or business.
  • · Demonstrated work experience in information technology and/or project management in an integration/merger environment.
  • · Project management certification or designation in progress required (e.g. PMP or CAPM)
  • · Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills preferably in a transformation environment.
  • Ability to set and manage high, multiple and concurrent expectations and be adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Superior service orientation.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in change/transition management.
  • Team leadership, supervisory or management experience is an asset.
